Oliver graduated from Princeton University with degrees in Psychology and Creative Writing, and later earned his MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Florida, where he also taught courses in fiction and rhetoric. An award-winning writer, Oliver has spent the past decade helping hundreds of students navigate the college admissions process with clarity, purpose, and authenticity.

As Principia’s College Consulting Director, Oliver oversees the strategic direction of every student’s application journey. He works closely with our team of counselors to ensure that each student’s story is distinct, thoughtful, and true to who they are. With a background that blends psychology and narrative craft, Oliver excels at getting to the heart of what motivates each student — and guiding them to express that with clarity and confidence. He believes that great college consulting doesn’t just lead to strong applications, but to meaningful self-discovery along the way.

Outside of work, Oliver enjoys reading old New Yorker articles, playing tennis, and spending time with his wife, Elaina, and their daughter.
