SSAT Prep

With all private 1:1 tutoring for the SSAT, we customize our curriculum for each student based on their individual strengths, goals, and areas for growth. Most students meet for an hour each week for verbal, reading, and writing, plus one hour for quantitative (aka math) review. Sometimes this means a lot of vocabulary study to help with the verbal section that’s full of synonyms and analogies. Sometimes this means an introduction to geometry concepts ocvered on the test that your student hasn’t covered in school yet.

Our SSAT prep combines three proven tools for score improvement:
● Content review
● Strategy-driven instruction
● Full-length practice exams with feedback

We don’t just teach the content — we teach students how to take the test.

Test Like It’s Game Day

We offer both online and paper-based practice tests so students can prep under conditions that match the real thing — whether they’re testing on a screen or with a pencil in hand.

Progress You Can See

Every student gets an online personalized score tracker with clean, visual data showing their growth over time. It’s one part motivation, one part accountability — and a great way to see just how far they’ve come.

About the SSAT

The SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test) is required by many independent schools across the U.S. and internationally. Unlike most school tests, the SSAT is strategy-based. It rewards smart guessing — and penalizes wrong answers. Students earn 1 point for a correct answer, lose ¼ point for a wrong one, and get 0 for a blank. That scoring structure means knowing when to guess can be just as important as knowing the content itself.

Levels

Elementary Level – for students in Grades 3–4
Middle Level – for students in Grades 5–7
Upper Level – for students in Grades 8–11

Test Format

Since COVID, the SSAT now offers in-person and online testing both at a center and in your home via the SSAT at Home. Depending on your student’s level and location, available formats may vary — you can check current testing options here.
