Emily holds a PhD in history with a concentration in 20th century East Asia from the University of Virginia. Fluent in both Mandarin Chinese and Spanish, she is also proficient in Japanese. Emily is an adjunct professor at both Georgetown University's Department of History and the George Washington University's Elliott School of International Affairs, and she is also a term member on the Council on Foreign Relations. She is a passionate educator with over a decade of experience teaching test prep, history, and reading/writing. In her free time, Emily enjoys swimming, board games, and reading dystopian and YA novels.
